Entity Theatre’s 2017 spring production is the European premiere of Numbers, originally written in Spanish by Mar Gómez Glez for the Royal Court Theatre, and translated into English by William Gregory.
It is based on a true story and deals with the crew of a Spanish trawler who are confronted with a critical choice – a choice that affects the fate of the migrants on a capsizing boat. Stranded in the Mediterranean sea close to Malta for six days, the characters are trapped in a web of human conflicts, diplomacy, politics, and media.
Numbers is a political play: it’s serious, it’s satirical, it’s deep, yet it is also humorous.
The play is helmed by Bogdan Tabacaru (Director), Makrand Mujumdar (Assistant Director), Elif Bilge Kavun (Producer), Jennifer Blastorah Orszag (Scenographer) and Ashok Vasudevan (Dramaturg).
